Kent-Moore J-1328 Pinion Bearing Remover
The pinion bearing on all 1939-1946 Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton truck models are so located that the inner races are obscured.
To safely remove any bearing, it is necessary to apply pressure on the tight race, in this case, the inner race.
This pinion bearing remover is made with internal spiral teeth that mesh with and just clear the gear teeth at the largest diameter. The remover teeth provide a bearing surface against the bearing inner race, and allow the bearing to be pressed off without damage.
To attempt to remove the bearing by supporting only the outer race would result in damage to the bearing. Weight 1 3/4 lbs.
