.876, 1.000, 1.125 Pitman Shaft Bushing Reamer
There are two separate bushings in the steering gear pitman shaft housing. They are at the inner and outer ends of the housing bore. To service them, a piloting reamer must be used to maintain alignment between bushings. This reamer has a long pilot on the end which reaches through the inner bushing and assures alignment while the other bushing is reamed. The reamer shank acts a a trailing pilot, and stabilizes the reamer as the inner bushing is reamed. This long pilot reamer will ream a true, straight hole dead in line in both bushings. |
