J-794 and J-975 Piston Inserter
The angular valve construction on 1935 and later models requires a machined resess in the cylinder block. There is danger of chipping the rings against this sharp edge when a piston is inserted with a conventional type inserter. This special inserter is made with a lip that extends into the recess and permits the ring to pass into the cylinder bore without striking the sharp edge. |

J-874C Connecting Rod and Piston Aligner and Reaming Fixture
The connecting rod and piston aligner checks any length or size of connecting rod and piston quickly and accurately. The remarkable features of this aligner are the adjustable surface plate, and facilities for piston reaming. The adjustable surface plate makes possible the checking of any length connecting rod. Merely turning the knurled locking nut instantly makes it possible to adjust the surface plate to any desired position. The piston reamer furnished with the aligner is used with the guide bushing assuring perfect alignment of piston bushings. |

J-965 Piston Reamer and Fixture
This fixture consists of a machined "V" block with support base for holding in vise, and a central hole for guiding the reamer. A spiral fluted expansion reamer and a guiding pilot sleeve are used with the fixture. To use the fixture, insert the hardened ground bushing in the central hole in the fixture. Place piston in "V" block and insert pilot end of reamer through the piston bushings and into the bushing in the fixture. This procedure will perfectly line up the piston pin holes true with the reamer. Push the reamer through the piston, removing the amount of stock necessary. (The J-975 Piston Reamer and Fixture is included as part of the J-874C Connecting Rod and Piston Aligner and Reaming Fixture.) |

J-1218 Piston Vise
The piston vise should always be used when removing piston rings and fitting new rings, pins, and connecting rods. This piston vise, together with the connecting rod and piston aligner, protects the parts and speeds up the operation. |

Cylinder Gauge
All
Passenger Cars and Trucks
This gauge is of rugged construction and has a non-breakable crystal over the dial. The dial is mounted on a block that moves at right angles to the sled. The hardened and ground steel sled has two line contact points that are at all times in alignment with the walls of the cylinder.
Two contact points (hardened), that independently cause the hand to travel over the dial reading in .001 and with a unique double spring action, make the gauge self centering and absolutely non-collapsible. Provisions for diameters varying from 2 1/2" to 6" are made with two adjustable rods. These may be carried in the hollow handle of the gauge.
The dial is graduated to show plus or minus, one turn of the hand being .001. By turning the knurled rim, the dial may be instantly moved to bring the 0 mark to any point desired, in relation to the head.
See J-984 Master Ring (1937-46 Models) and K-913-9 Master Ring (1933-36 Models) above.
